Gift Aid
Gift Aid Scheme:
Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows registered charities such as ourselves here in St Peter’s, to claim 25 pence from HMRC for every £1 the parish receives as a gift aid donation.
This scheme makes a substantial contribution to our parish annual income.
Membership to the scheme:
To qualify for membership you Must Pay income tax.
To become a member of the scheme you need to complete, sign and date a declaration form, stating your name and home address, then return the form to the Parish Gift Aid Coordinator. The form states that you wish all monies you donate to St Peter’s Parish to be classed as Gift Aid donations.
Making your Gift Aid donation:
Your Gift Aid donation can be made using the weekly parish offertory envelopes or by bankers order, whichever is the most convenient.
Tax Relief:
If you pay tax above the basic rate, you can claim back the difference between the rate you pay and the basic rate on your donation. You can do this either through your
Self Assessment tax return OR by asking HM Revenue and Customs to amend your tax code.
For information on becoming a member, please contact the parish Gift Aid Co-ordinator John Robertson, Tel:01914877790 or email johnr149@hotmail.co.uk
