Schools

I consider myself very lucky to have been commissioned by Bishop Seamus to carry out the Chaplaincy role at St Peter’s School.

I am part of the RE Team working with Mrs Stokoe (Head Teacher) and Mrs McArthur (RE Co-ordinator) to provide our children, parents and staff with opportunities to explore and develop our Catholic faith.

The children’s wellbeing and happiness in and out of school is vitally important and that is why in 2015 we became a “Rainbows” school, which provides support for children going changes and difficulties in their lives. I trained along with Mrs Lawson to deliver this vital programme on a weekly basis.

The spirituality and ethos of our faith is celebrated through prayer groups, class and whole school meditations, liturgies and collective worship. We welcome the parish community to gather together with us in our worship.

We strive to look to the wider and global community to witness our faith through outreach work and supporting charities such as Cafod and Mary’s Meals.

I co-ordinate an active Mini Vinnie group that support the fantastic work of the SVP Conference at St Peter’s and Corpus Christi parishes, and arrange joint fundraisers to live out the Mini Vinnie mission – “turn concern into action”.

As a member of St Peter’s Parish since 1991 I’m a link between school and parish and aim to continue to strengthen the links already established.

I love this role!
