Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Outreach Weekly News for the Feast of Corpus Christi. Happy Feast Day to Corpus Christi Parish and School!

With the issue of deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda dominating the headlines, there is growing awareness of the movement of people across the world. We need to think deeply about why it is happening and how to support those who, in desperation, leave their homes and come to our shores. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales recently passed a 6 point resolution to uphold the human dignity of refugees and asylum seekers. Please see the attachment to read this in full. We have published on the Community Support page a statement from Bishop Paul McAleenan, the lead Bishop for migrants, released on 14th June, the day when the flight to Rwanda was to take off.
